Granuglass® Aluminosilicate microspheres are hollow, almost perfectly shaped silicate balls with a smooth surface, with a diameter of 10 to 500 mcm (average about 100 mcm). The walls are solid non-porous with a thickness of 2 to 10 microns, the melting point is 1400–1500°C, the density is 580-690 kg/m³.
Hollow aluminosilicate microspheres are used in solving technical issues that require: reduction in the weight material with a low thermal conductivity, high strength, volume efficiency, increased resistance to erosion and aggressive environments.
